What I look for in a student: I look for a student who is eager to learn both inside and outside of the classroom, someone who is anxious to get involved with not only their education but to discover their future as well.
What I love about my job: I love the ability to connect with a student at such a crucial point in their lives; college is one of the first big decisions a student faces and it happens at such a young age. It is extremely rewarding to be able to help guide a student in their search.
My hobbies: Traveling, cooking, reading and going on walks with my dog, Olive.
Music: I enjoy listening to all types of music, but lately I have been very interested in Country.
Books: I enjoy reading just about any non-fiction book but Jon Krakauer is my favorite author.
TV: I have been on a HBO kick lately and am recently addicted to Game of Thrones, True Blood, and The Newsroom.
Favorite Coe Memory: For me it would be graduation. I loved being able to look around at all of my friends and see our hard work and accomplishments coming to completion as we walked across the commencement stage.
Favorite Coe Tradition: Flunk Day
Trips You've Made with Coe: During the summer of my junior year, I travelled to Andros Island in the Bahamas for a marine biology May Term Course. It was amazing to listen to a lecture from a professor with the faint whisper of the ocean in the background.
Cedar Rapids Favorites: Walking downtown and enjoying a cup of coffee at the Blue Strawberry.
My Sport/Professional team-sport: Da Bears
