Science Olympiad is a nonprofit organization designed to encourage middle and high school students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Coe College hosts the state tournament for Science Olympiad. This tournament is a team-based competition that consists of a series of different hands-on, interactive, challenging and inquiry-based events that are well balanced between the various disciplines of biology, earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering and technology. The winning team advances to the National Science Olympiad tournament, which is held at a different venue each year.
