Hometown: Clinton, Iowa
Major: Nursing

What activities are you involved in?
Here at Coe I am involved in Greek Life (Lambda Chi Alpha), Student Affairs Committee, Student Alumni Association, Order of Omega, Former Student Body President, Student Nursing Association and Flunk Day Committee.

Why did you decide to attend Coe?
I decided to attend Coe because it is GREAT! The people here are so nice and willing to help you with anything you need. The nursing program at Coe is top-notch and as a nursing major I thought that was essential.  I love the small school in a big city, which you usually don't find. The campus is beautiful too!

What does Coe mean to you?
Coe to me means a place where I feel at home. Coe is a great place to get an education but you have to feel good while doing it and at Coe that is exactly how I feel.

What is it like living in Cedar Rapids?
Cedar Rapids is the perfect place for Coe. There is always something going on whether it is a Cedar Rapids Kernels game, the downtown farmers market or going to the local movie theater. You always find something to do on or off campus.

How has Coe changed your life?
Coe has changed my life in a positive way. I have met so many new people coming here and made friendships that will last a lifetime!  It has also provided me with opportunities of a lifetime.  I recently studied abroad in southern Africa.  When someone asks where I go to school I am proud to tell them I am a Kohawk!

What service opportunities do you take advantage of?
Service opportunities at Coe are endless. I personally volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital right across the street. I love volunteering there and I learn a lot from it. The Office of Service Learning and Campus Engagement does a great job when it comes to informing the students of current service projects and areas of need.

Why did you choose your major?
I chose my major because I love helping people. I can't wait to get into the workforce and have an impact on people's lives! I love giving back and I think nursing is the perfect way to do that. Nursing to me is an area where I feel very comfortable and love what I do.
