"Coe is pushing yourself to do, be and see more than you thought possible surrounded by faculty more supportive than you ever thought possible to achieve goals higher than you ever thought possible."

What I look for in a student: The thing I look for most is a student who has had a strong preparation in high school and is now ready to jump into all that Coe has to offer, both in the classroom and out. This is a college that believes in the Liberal Arts experience and really works to create a community of active and engaged students. I am looking for students who want that too!

What I like about my job: Hands down, without a doubt…THE FAMILIES! I was a first generation college student and I know how intimidating this process can be. My goal is to make it easier as stress-free for families. Okay, it is still going to be stressful, but maybe just nail-biting-stressful, not sick-to-your-stomach-stressful!

National Committees: National Association for College Admission Counseling, Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling

My hobbies: Scrapbooking, photography, playing cards with our neighbors, going to my older son's football games (he will be a senior in college this fall), sidewalk chalk-ing with my younger son (he turned 2 this spring), taking walks with Tyson (our 4 year old Boxer)

Music: My iPod ranges from James Taylor to Ginuwine, Josh Groban to Steve Miller Band, Christian rock bands to Broadway soundtracks.

Books: I love to read and especially love biographies.

TV: My current favorite TV show…Deadliest Catch on Discovery!

Movie: Favorite movie of all time – Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.

Favorite Coe Memory: My first day working at Coe was also the first day of Iowa Private College Week that year. I'll never forget the excitement of that first day…or that we accidentally bumped Charlie the Kohawk out of the back of a golfcart when we jumped a curb!

Favorite Coe Tradition: Bell Ringing Ceremony

Cedar Rapids Favorites: The Irish Democrat, Theater Cedar Rapids

Time Killer: Sudoku puzzles

My Sport: COLLEGE football. I can't get enough!
