Location: Tutoring in Cedar Rapids is held at Coe College in Eby Annex. Eby Annex is located at the far north west corner of campus - a one story addition on the west side of Eby Field House.
Structure: Tutoring time is designed to help students complete, and understand homework assignments. If no homework is given that day, we expect students to use the time to study course material and review previously covered concepts.
Tutoring is broken into two 45 minute study sessions, with a ten minute break. One forty five minute session is devoted to working on Language Arts related course work; Social Studies, Foreign Language or Language Arts. The other forty-five minute session is devoted to working on Math or Science related course work.
Students work in groups of three or four with a college tutor in the same room to answer questions, or explain concepts.
There are several computers students may use with access to the internet, as well as an assortment of some of the texts that the school system uses and access to the Coe College Library.
