Poet Jane Gregory from the famed Iowa Writers' Workshop will speak and read her poetry on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. in Kesler Lecture Hall of Hickok Hall on the Coe campus. The event is open to the public at no charge, with no tickets required.

Poet Jane Gregory from the famed Iowa Writers' Workshop will speak and read her poetry on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. in Kesler Lecture Hall of Hickok Hall on the Coe campus. The event is open to the public at no charge, with no tickets required.

Gregory has earned a reputation for creative excellence as both a writer and a teacher at the University of Iowa. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in English literature from Vassar College in 2004 and is expected to graduate from Iowa in May with an MFA in Creative Writing, poetry.

The poet holds a teaching fellowship at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Gregory earned an Academy of American Poets Prize as an undergraduate student, and won the Deanne Beach Stoneham Prize for Poetry at Vassar College.

Gregory's first chapbook, "The Second is Thirst," was published by Burning Chair Books in 2007. Her poems have also been published in numerous other literary publications.
