Alumni and friends of Coe College living in Iowa can show their school spirit with official Coe license plates. The specialty plates featuring Kohawk crimson and gold were recently introduced by the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) and are available through each county treasurer's office.

Personalized Coe license plates are available for a $50 one-time cost, plus a $5 annual validation fee and an annual registration fee. These customized plates may consist of up to seven characters and numbers in accordance with IDOT guidelines. Numbered Coe plates are available for a $25 one-time cost, plus a $5 annual validation fee and an annual registration fee. Eligible vehicles include passenger cars, trucks, trailers and travel trailers.

These license plates were made possible through funds awarded to the Coe Alumni Association when Coe Head Football Coach Steve Staker was named the 2009 Liberty Mutual National Coach of the Year for NCAA Division III.

"We're excited about this opportunity for alumni and friends of Coe to purchase these license plates and show their Kohawk spirit," said Director of Alumni Programs Jean Johnson. "Nearly 40 percent of Coe alumni live in Iowa, and we believe Kohawks across the state will exhibit their Coe pride by displaying the new license plates."
