Carmen: Assembling the Pieces to Make an Opera

January 16

Founding Director Daniel Kleinknecht and members of the artistic team from Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre's upcoming production of Bizet's "Carmen" discuss the process of building an opera production. The 1875 composition is a standard in the operatic repertoire because of familiar tunes like "Toreador Song" and "Habanera." This one-day forum will present an inside look at the new production of "Carmen" to be staged at the Paramount Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19.
