Phonathon
WILL YOU BE READY TO ANSWER THE CALL?
Coe's Phonathon is a fundraising effort that most of you are probably familiar with. Aside from the shift manager (who is usually a Coe alumnus) Phonathon is staffed entirely by current Coe students. These students applied for a position with Phonathon because they were excited to speak with alumni about their experiences at Coe, and also because they wanted to take an active role in furthering their own education by promoting the Coe Fund. The goals of Phonathon are namely: to raise money for the Coe Fund, to update demographic information to ensure all alumni can stay connected, and, as an added bonus, to give students a chance to develop relationships with alumni and friends of the college.
But why is the Coe Fund important? The Coe Fund addresses the most immediate needs of the college, and helps to make ends meet for a variety of important projects on campus, meaning it has at some point benefited each member of the Coe community. This year for example, the Coe Fund helped to facilitate the P.U.B. renovation, upgraded the internet on campus to completely wireless, assisted with improvements to the Writing and Speaking Centers, and so much more. None of these exciting changes would be made possible without the generous support of alumni and friends of the college, which is why it is so important for everyone to participate in the Phonathon. Not only will your gift make a huge difference on Coe’s campus, it will also strengthen the value of a Coe College degree, which benefits all past, present, and future students. Picking up the phone will also give you the opportunity to pay it forward, and although some alumni have truly great answering machine messages, we think you’re wittier in person, and would love the opportunity to banter about Coe – past, present, and future with you. So don’t forget - Phonathon starts in September. Will you be ready to answer the call?
