Busse Challenge
Each year the Busse Foundation offers a financial challenge to the four recent graduating classes, in addition to the current graduating class. This year it is offering a challenge to each of the following classes: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Jeff Busse '85, his father, Lavern Busse, and the Busse Foundation are challenging each class to reach 20% participation in the Coe Fund. For each class that reaches the 20% goal, the Busse Foundation will donate up to $3,000 to endow a scholarship to be given to students with financial need who are involved in extracurricular activities. Therefore, if all four classes reach the goal, up to $12,000 will go toward the Busse Scholarship. The size of the gift does not matter. A gift of $5 helps increase alumni participation. The impact of every gift, regardless of the amount, makes a tremendous difference.
Upon graduation, Coe students assume a new title: Coe College alumnus. For the rest of your life you will be known as a Coe College graduate. Welcome to a group that boasts nearly 14,000 members and is responsible for some of the most significant impact on the college.
Student tuition and fees generate only 69% of what it costs to educate a student at Coe. Gifts from alumni and friends help make up the difference. Your education at Coe was supported by gifts from others-and now you can return the favor. By giving a gift to Coe through the Coe Fund, for example, you will be supporting all areas of college operations: student programs, scholarships, faculty programs, equipment, curriculum, the library, technology, extracurricular activities, and facilities. The Coe Fund is a resource to help the College meet its most pressing needs every year.
Please make a gift to Coe today and be a part of this exciting challenge!
