Handbook for Students with Disabilities

Test Proctoring
Testing services, which include proctoring, verbal administration, make-up exams and extended test time, are provided for students with special needs.

Note takers
Note takers may be provided to any student who has difficulty taking lecture notes because of a documented physical or learning disability.

Kurzweil Reading Software
AAP owns a site license for the Kurzweil software which enables students to have their textbooks or written documents read aloud. Books may be scanned in the AAP office and converted to a CD for ease of use.

Course Selection/Advising
Considering coursework and teaching styles, recommendations may be given to address a student's special learning needs.

Advocacy
The faculty at CoeCollege is very supportive of students with special needs. However, the AAP staff may serve as an advocate for the student on a case- by-case basis, if necessary.

Classroom Accessibility
Students with mobility or physical impairments that hinder their ability to navigate to class, will receive assistance from the AAP staff in order to coordinate their classroom locations to accessible spaces.
