Student Activities & Programming

Coe College has a vibrant student activities program. The student activities committee (SAC) provides numerous opportunities for students to attend free entertainment both on and off campus. These activities encompass a wide variety of interests for everyone at Coe.

The campus provides a comforting and relaxing area in its coffee shop (Charlie's) for diverse performances. These include the Coffeeshop Series, which features low-key acoustic singers, poets and solo artists, as well as PUB Live events, which feature high-energy bands brought to campus. Every year the campus hosts a Big Band Concert. Previous students have enjoyed spectacular shows from Gavin DeGraw, Matt Kearney and Motion City Soundtrack. Coe also hosts events such as lectures, magicians and comedians. The annual Humanitarian Lecture has featured Patch Adams, Coach Carter and Lois Jensen in recent years.

Weekends are especially busy with the Friday night Comedy Series and Late-night Fridays. Each and every Friday, the college has a free event at midnight such as a new release showing at the local movie theater, skating at the modern city ice arena, or karaoke in Charlie's. Furthermore, every year Coe hosts several multicultural events and traditional Homecoming activities, including a dance, parade and football game. Coe College truly provides a diverse range of student activities to encompass all the interests of all students.
