Orientation Check-In: Lynch Room, Lower Gage Memorial Union, 8:00- 8:45 a.m.
Come to the Lynch Room in Lower Gage to pick up your Orientation schedule materials.
CAP Meeting: Lynch Room, Lower Gage Memorial Union, 8:45-9:00 a.m.
Meet with your Adjustment Peer, who is a Coe student. They will be ready to help in all your college needs.
Orientation and General Education: Lynch Room, Lower Gage Memorial Union, 9:00-9:30 a.m.
A brief overview of distribution requirements, course offerings, general education requirements, and a look at the distinctive nature of a liberal arts education with Evelyn J. Moore, Professor and Registrar.
Tour: Campus Offices, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Partake in a tour of campus led by previous transfer students, which will stop at major offices along the way that may be helpful in your Coe College career.
Academic Advising: Faculty Offices (by appointment), 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Meet with Coe faculty to determine your Fall Term schedule.
Rotating Sessions: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
In these 90 minutes you will attend three different sessions. Your CAP Leader will guide you to each session location.
- Health & Wellness: Meet Your Resources, Cherry Auditorium
Meet the staff members who help keep you healthy and can make you feel better on campus.
- Computing at Coe, Various locations (Follow CAP Leader)
Log into all of your Coe accounts and learn how to use the many computing resources you have at Coe.
- Security at Coe, The P.U.B.
Dean of Students Erik Albinson and Director of Security Carlos Velez, along with the Cedar Rapids Police Department will discuss the Cedar Rapids community and security services provided to Coe students.
Lunch with Speakers: Lynch Room, Lower Gage Memorial Union, 12:00-1:30 p.m.
Meet with Residence Life, Career Services, and Student Activities staff members for a discussion of opportunities at Coe followed by a panel of previous transfer students to answer any questions you have.
Academic Advising: Faculty Offices (by appointment), 12:00-1:45 p.m.
Meet with Coe faculty to determine your Fall Term schedule.
CAP Team Window Painting: Upper Gage Memorial Union, 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Assist your CAP team in beautifying the Coe campus by painting a window depicting your team name. See the Orientation schedule booklet for more information.
Work Study Meeting: Kesler Auditorium, Hickok Hall, 2:30-3:15 p.m. & 3:30-4:15 p.m.
This session is mandatory for students that have been offered Work Study. See the Orientation booklet for more information.
Registration: Stewart Memorial Library 2:00 -5:30 p.m.
Bring the signed registration form from your Advisor to Stewart Memorial Library approximately 15 minutes (1:45 pm) before your 2:00pm registration time. Enter Stewart Memorial Library at the main entrance and wait at the stairs until your group is admitted.
Grill Out: Gage Memorial Union Patio 5:00-6:30 p.m.
CAP Team Meeting: Assigned Locations, 8:00- 8:30 p.m.
A Shot of Reality: Dows Theatre, 8:00-9:30 p.m.
This great program combines interactive comedy, audience role playing, facts, and education to give the audiences "A Shot of Reality" about the dangers of alcohol. The program provides an honest, engaging, humorous and sober new look at alcohol awareness.
