Peter has been at Coe since September 2015. Prior to Coe, he worked at the international student center at Syracuse University from 2010 through 2013. Completed at Syracuse, his dissertation, We’re all Horacians: Listening to international students at an American liberal arts college, was a case-study focused on the lived experiences of international students at a small, private college in the Midwest U.S. Beyond advising and working with international students, Peter has taught courses in composition and literature, English as a Foreign Language, college learning strategies, qualitative research, and international education.
At Coe, Peter supports and advocates for international students at Coe College (and in the Cedar Rapids community), including advising the International Club, as well as acts as a liaison between international students and the Department of Homeland Security. He also serves as the College’s senior international officer, developing programs and policies to internationalize Coe institutionally.
His other duties include overseeing safety and risk management matters for study abroad programs and maintaining relationships with exchange partnerships at universities abroad.
In his free time, Peter loves to spend time with his family, traveling, hiking, and exercising.
