Three Kohawks earn All-Iowa Conference honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Three Kohawks have been named to the All-Iowa Conference volleyball teams as announced today by the Iowa Conference. Coe, the second place team in the IIAC, had two players on the first team along with conference champion Central and third place Wartburg.

Senior Kristy Upah (Toledo, Iowa/South Tama) and junior Shayla Chalker (Melbourne, Aus./Upwey) were named to the first team while senior Shanon Nelson (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) was a second-team selection.

Upah was a first-team selection last season while Nelson was a second-team selection in 2005 and 2006.

Coe finished the regular season 19-11 and finished second in the Iowa Conference, their highest finish in school history. Head Coach DeAnn Woodin became the third coach in school history to lead the team to a winning record in her first two seasons at the helm.
