Three Kohawk
relays compete at the Drake Relays
DES MOINES, Iowa – The
Coe Track and Field teams sent three relays to this weekend's
Drake Relays held at Drake Stadium. On the men's side, the
Kohawks entered the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. For the
women, Coe entered teh 4x400 meter relay.
Coe's 4x100 men's team, comprised
of junior Kyle Brockmeyer (Cedar Rapids,
Iowa/Kennedy), Tony Krueger (Urbana, Iowa/CPU),
Justin Janss (Belle Plaine, Iowa/Belle
Plaine) and Vance Rudolph (Fort Collins,
Colo./Rocky Mountain) was disqualified from the event.
In the 4x400, senior Paul
Bormann (Fredericksburg, Iowa/Fredericksburg) replaced
Brockmeyer in the event. Coe's 4x400 was also disqualified.
For the Kohawk women, three freshman
runners led the 4x400 team to a sixth place finish in their
heat, while finishing 28th overall in a time of 4:12.17.
Junior Naomi Hillsman (Iowa City, Iowa/West)
joined freshman Michelle Klobassa (Elma,
Iowa/Riceville), Ashley Schnell (Lincoln,
Neb./North Star) and Justine Screws (Cedar
Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) on the relay squad.
No Coe relay team qualified for
