Fiala finishes season at NCAA Individual Championships

ST. PETER, Minn. - Junior Molly Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) finished her season today at the NCAA Individual Championships. Fiala was defeated in the first round. Fiala also qualified for last year's tournament. She is the only Kohawk to ever compete at the NCAA Individual Championships.

Fiala lost a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Grace Baljon of Williams College. Baljon went on to upset seventh-seeded Gab Carvalho of Sewanee, Univ. of the South. Carvalho defeated Fiala in the first round of the 2007 tournament.

Fiala finishes her junior campaign with a 25-7 record. Her 25 wins are the most in school history, breaking her own record of 24 her freshman year.
