Head Coach Bob Timmons

5Coach Timmons has completed his 10th year at Coe. In 2007, Timmons guided the Kohawks to a 31-14 record and their third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2006, he led the Kohawks to a 41-13 record, including the schools first trip to the College World Series. Timmons has twice been named the Iowa Conference Coach of the Year, in 1999 and 2005. His overall record at Coe is currently 309-117 and is combined record for coaching is 684-278 (22 years). Bob is a member of the Iowa Men's Fast Pitch Hall of Fame and the Cedar Rapids Hall of Fame.

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, he got his start in softball as a player in the Cedar Rapids Major Open fast pitch league playing for Welty Way and Modern Piping.

He began his coaching career at Mount Mercy College, serving there for 12 seasons from 1983-94. While at Mount Mercy, he compiled a highly successful record of 375 wins and 162 losses. He was selected NAIA District 15 Coach of the Year seven times and took the team to the national tournament four times. He has produced 13 All-Americans and six Academic All-Americans in his 20 years of coaching.

"Coaching at Coe and within the Iowa Conference gives me the opportunity to coach against teams that are always competitive in the regional and national tournaments," said Timmons.

Assistant Coaches

4 Ben Sorden
Coach Sorden has completed his sixth year with the Kohawks. His primary responsibility is working with the pitching staff. Prior to coming to Coe he was the assistant varsity coach at Cedar Rapids Kennedy with two regional championship appearances and one trip to the state tournament. He also served as a student coach at Buena Vista University with two Iowa Conference championships, three regional appearances and one trip to nationals. Ben is a pitcher for both Quad City Door and Life of Iowa men's fastpitch teams and is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
   
1 Jodi Stepanek
Assistant softball coach Jodi Stepanek has completed her sixth year on the Coe College staff after being a member of the Coe College softball team from 1996-2000. During her career at Coe, she started on the varsity squad for four years and was a co-captain her senior year. In 2000 the Kohawks finished with a 44-8 record and co-champions of the Iowa Conference. "I had a great experience participating in athletes at Coe College. I wanted to be a part of what I knew was a great softball program. I am so lucky to have this opportunity. Once a Kohawk, always a Kohawk." Jodi primarily works with Coe outfield and is current employed at Howes Law Firm as the Office Manager.
   
3 Dale Lassen
Assistant softball coach Dale Lassen has completed his fourth year at Coe. Lassen is a Hall of Fame player of the Major Open fast pitch league in Cedar Rapids. Dale primarily works with the catchers.

Diane Meyer
Assistant softball coach Diane Meyer has finished her second year coaching with Bob Timmons at Coe. Coach Meyer assisted head coach Mary Rausch with the Kohawk Softball program from 1994 through 1997. Diane was a former Kohawk and played for Coe from 1981 through 1984. She was inducted into the Coe Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. She is employed at Fiserv.
