Schnell named Academic All-American

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- Freshman Ashley
Schnell (Lincoln, Neb./NorthStar) has been named
to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country
Coaches Association Academic All-American team.
Schnell was one of 10 individuals honored
in the Iowa Conference. Schnell finished 10th at regionals
and 65th of 280 runners at the NCAA National Championships.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA
All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled
a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also
have a minimum 3.10 team cumumlative grade point average.
To be eligible for individual honors, a student-athlete
must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and must finish
in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA
regional meet.
