Wilderness Field Station Reunion
Thursday-Sunday, August 7-10
Wilderness Field Station
Ely, Minnesota
Low Lake in the Superior National Forest

Preliminary plan: The evening banquet, talks, and other "formal" activities will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9, starting at about 5 p.m. The students who have taken classes during second session will leave on the morning of August 7, so if you would like to arrive a day or two early and enjoy unstructured time at the field station, you may arrive as early as the late afternoon of August 7. An incoming Coe freshman group will arrive the evening of August 10 for a week of "Coe Orientation in the Wilderness," so we expect that most alumni will have left the station by noon on Sunday, but if you would like to stay a few extra days and perhaps go on a short canoe trip, we can probably arrange it.

The last reunion showed us that we can only feed about 50 in the cafeteria (we had 55 last time) so again, sadly, we must limit attendance to alumni and one other adult (no children, please). When we have heard back from you, we will send a second letter with the final itinerary to those who have indicated interest in attending the reunion. A non-refundable $50 deposit will be due on March 24, and the final payment ($50/person to attend the banquet, evening events and Saturday night stay; $35/person/night for the other overnight stays on Thursday or Friday) will all be due on July 1. If an emergency arises, and you find at the last moment that you cannot attend, all but the $50 deposit will be returned until August 1.

Finally, we need your help locating W.F.S. alums for whom we lack contact information. So if you have alumni friends/classmates with whom you stay in contact, particularly from colleges other than Coe who took classes before 2003, please have them send their mailing and email address to alumni@coe.edu or hhadow@coe.edu so that we can get them on our mailing list. We can also be reached on Facebook by searching for "Wilderness Field Station."

We look forward to hearing from you and to sharing history, camaraderie, old stories, to hearing loons and maybe wolves, and to creating new memories this summer.
