of the strongest features of Coe College is our commitment
to fostering and maintaining a diverse and broadly talented
academic community. This is especially true as it applies
to Coe's international population, both students and alumni.
We are enormously pleased that the international component
of the Coe family is as large and far-flung as it is, and
we are dedicated to continuing the important tradition of
international education at this College.
Our emphasis here will take many forms, starting
with the creation of this international page on Coe's website.
I invite you to visit us here and participate in the evolution
of this site, where we hope "virtually" to bring
you back to campus and to unite you directly with others,
both outside the United States and in Cedar Rapids.
As a part of the international body of Coe
alumni, you hold a special place in our hearts - you are
an integral part of our history and an equally important
part of our future. Come back to campus, both by visiting
us on our new international website and, hopefully, by attending
reunions. We will be excited to see you again and expect
that you will be thrilled to see what has happened at the
place where you spent such an important time in your life.

may seem incredible, but 22 years after arriving at Coe
College, I am still here! I have accumulated so many wonderful
memories and have had the privilege of meeting so many marvelous
people over these years. It always brightens my day to receive
a card or an e-mail from the many international and American
student alumni around the world. Hearing about the woes
and joys of graduate school, the great new job, the thrill
of marriage, and the wonder of that first, second, third,
etc. child, enables me to stay a small part of your lives.
I am proud to confirm that your college has
continued to expand and grow in size and quality. The physical
size of the college now includes an entire “east campus”
with new building and student apartments. The value of your
diploma only increases as Coe continues to employ excellent
faculty and openly seeks to enroll the very finest students.
The international students we enroll today are as excellent
as you were and are taking an active part in campus life.
We have international students who are Student Senators,
Residence Assistants, leaders of clubs and organizations,
members of fraternities and sororities, and one who is the
editor of the Coe Cosmos! You can be very proud of the fine
international student tradition that has been established
here at Coe College!
I truly encourage each of you to find a time
to come “home” to Coe. Even with all of the new
aspects of campus, some things are still quite the same
and will stir those feelings of nostalgia for days gone
by! Coe College has made the commitment not just to be a
part of your past, but to be a part of your present and
your future. This website is another avenue for us to maintain
our linkages. You remain very important to us!
