Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the organization and community. Four women at Barnard College, now part of Columbia University, in New York founded Alpha Omicron Pi on January 2, 1897. Today, Alpha Omicron Pi has entered the lives of over 190,000 women in over 212 active international chapters. The Chapters of Alpha Omicron Pi strive towards academic excellence and college involvement, to enjoy the opportunities that are given as a part of college life. As engaged individuals that also hold leadership positions in many other campus activities, the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi hold themselves to the highest moral and academic standards. The Alpha Theta Chapter at Coe College was founded in 1969.
