What are your extracurricular interests?
Men's Soccer, Student Senate, Student Affairs Committee, Men
Against Sexual Assault, Coe College Democrats, IM Water Polo,
Mortar Board
Why did you choose Coe? Coe College offered me an excellent financial aid package and
after visiting the beautiful campus and interacting with the
lively professors and students I knew Coe College was the place
for me.
What do you like best about Coe?
My favorite aspect of Coe College is the personal, friendly environment.
The Coe community acts as a close-knit family that supports growth
both academically and personally.
What
do you do for fun on the weekends?
During the weekends I enjoy spending time with my friends,
playing tennis or squash at Clark Racquet Center, and catching
up on homework. Unlike other small schools, the majority
of Coe students stay on campus during the weekends which
is great for students like me who do not live close to home.
What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class has been Greek Civilization taught by my favorite
teacher - Ed Burke. Learning about the Greek Classics
was engaging and interesting. The professor made the
material really come alive.
What has been your favorite memory at Coe?
There have been a lot but the one that sticks out in my
mind was the Presidential Ball during my Sophomore year. The
night involved a very special lady and whole
lot of dancing.
Who is your favorite professor?
Dr. Edmund Burke, Professor of Humanities. He has an amazing
ability to present information in such a way that interests students.
He, above all other teachers, captures the imagination
of his students.
How was your transition from high school
to Coe?
My transition from high school to college life was made
with relative ease. Freshman Orientation during my first
week at Coe helped me adjust and within a couple semesters
I felt right at home in the campus community. After almost
four years on this campus I know most of the professors, administration,
and students personally and feel a deep sense of belonging
to the institution. I have matured greatly during my time
at Coe and as a result the school will always hold a special
place in my heart.
What do you like most about Cedar Rapids?
I like Cedar Rapids because it has all the resources
of a big city without the big city feel. Anything
a student may want: shopping malls, restaurants, concerts, movies,
or live theater are available . Yet, Cedar Rapids
does not have the traffic or crime found in other larger cities.
Coming from a small town I appreciate the amenities and relaxed
environment Cedar Rapids has to offer.
