Why did you choose Coe?
I came to Coe because of the great research opportunities
presented by the science program.
What do you like best about Coe?
My favorite part about Coe is working in the Writing Center.
I have gained a much broader view of the Coe society and its
fascinating inhabitants through our sessions in the Writing Center.
What
do you do for fun on the weekends?
On weekends I hang out with friends, watch movies, play frisbee
or racquetball, or swim.
What is your favorite class and why? Foundations of Advanced Mathematics. Its a math class that
is mainly discussion. It has given me a whole new idea of what
math can be used for.
What has been your favorite memory at Coe? Summer Research in the Physics department.
Who is your favorite professor?
John White, professor of mathematics. He works very hard
to make sure that anyone who has a question has it answered to
their satisfaction. Plus he ALWAYS comes into class
happy.
How was your transition from high school
to Coe?
I really enjoyed Orientation Week. It was a crazy and interesting
atmosphere that allowed us to get a feel for the campus. I
was able to find friends that I connected with better than anyone
that I had in my home town.
What do you like most about Cedar Rapids?
I like that everything that I need is within a ten minute drive
of campus. The walking paths in Cedar Rapids are great
during the spring, and some days the Quaker Oats factory makes
Crunch Berries. That is a smell that brightens up your day no
matter what.
