What are your extracurricular interests?
BSEO
Why did you choose Coe?
I chose Coe because it is a small school and it was not too
far from home. One thing that really stood out for me was that
Coe showed a lot of interest in me. I felt that they really wanted
and needed me to attend. Other schools seemed more interested
in me because of the tuition dollars. Coe on the other hand
was interested in how they could allow me to accomplish my goals
and excel academically. I totally agreed and chose Coe.
What do you like best about Coe?
I like the size of the classes best and the open door policy
the professors have. It allows me to get a more one-on-one experience
with my professors and if I have any questions my professors
are there to help.
What
do you do for fun on the weekends?
On the weekends I usually hang out with friends, might go to
a movie or out to eat. There are always things to do on campus
or off campus. That is one of the benefits you have at Coe.
You can choose to hang out on campus or off campus.
What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was Fundamentals of Public Speaking. I was
able to express my thoughts and learn about others. It
also helped me with speaking in large crowds. Before I took
this class I did not like to speak in front of a large
group of people. Now I feel like I am a better speaker
and feel comfortable with giving a speech. Most of the fundamentals
I learned I could use in everyday situations.
What has been your favorite memory at Coe?
It's really hard to think of one favorite memory at Coe, I have
so many its hard to chose.
Who is your favorite professor?
Karen Sindelar is my favorite professor. She helped me
grow as a person and student. I was able to learn a lot of things
that I could benefit from in everyday life. Karen is full of
energy and is willing to work with you as much as you need. She
really brought out the best in me.
How was your transition from high school
to Coe?
The students and faculty made me feel very welcomed. It
was easy to meet people. I experienced so
much during the first week of orientation that I was able
to adjust to a new beginning.
What do you like most about Cedar Rapids?
Since I am from Chicago, it definitely made it easier to adjust
because Cedar Rapids is not a small town but more like a small
city. There is always something to do. There
is shopping, museums, restaurants, movie theaters, and much more.
So if I don't want to hang out on campus I can always go off
campus.
