Sociology is a social science that emphasizes the study and understanding of social relationships, social institutions and other social structures, and social processes like deviant behavior, social conflict and social change. A degree in sociology emphasizes the development of a variety of skills such as critical investigation, data collection and analysis, and clear written expression.

Program Highlights:

  • Students are encouraged to participate in off-campus programs of study, such as the semester-length Urban Studies Program in Chicago or other programs located in the United States or abroad.
  • A variety of internship opportunities provide an opportunity to meet educational and career goals through direct experience in a social service setting including work with social welfare, educational, and health related fields.
