Biochemistry

Biochemistry is offered as a collateral major. As a chemistry major at Coe, you will take additional courses in the molecular sciences that can prepare you for a range of goals. Coe's Chemistry Department emphasizes individual learning, with personal attention from excellent faculty. Coe's student-faculty summer research program in chemistry is a part of this tradition.

Program Highlights:

  • The department offers an American Chemical Society certified chemistry major.
  • Since 1973, when Coe's exceptional internship program was established, students have been placed in positions throughout the U.S. and the world.
  • A wide range of research tools are available to students, all of which allow hands on experience from their first year of chemistry.
  • Coe offers unique and extensive collaborations with the biology department (Molecular biology, Biochemistry, and Environmental Science programs) and physics department (joint research projects in Materials Science).
