What makes Coe stand out from other schools?
Lots of things! I could easily write four or five pages about this, but the best thing would be to meet with the prospective students and explain our unique strengths in relationship to the students' interests.

What is your favorite class to teach and why?
I LOVE teaching all my classes because I love to share music with my students and to help prepare them to share music with others.

Name your most memorable Coe concert and what it meant to you.
Undoubtedly our most memorable concert was the Touring Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band's performance in Sanchung, Taiwan. The audience treated us like rock stars, calling for encore after encore, staying after the concert for autographs and photographs, and just to thank us. It was an amazing experience.

What is your favorite website?
www.coe.edu/bands!!!!!!

Who is playing on your iPod?
The music for our next concert!

What book are you currently reading?
Musicophilia

What do you enjoy doing outside of class?
Preparing for concerts, festivals and tours

What is the best getaway location, local or abroad?
Our tour to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai was amazing. I would love to go back - but I am really looking forward to our next tour to Brazil!

What does teaching at Coe mean to you?
I get to share music with great students who really enjoy working hard to make good music together.

What is your favorite thing about Coe?
I love working with the students. I love the feeling that we are a family, working towards common goals.

What is your favorite Coe tradition?
Hmmm. Festival of Bands? Jazz Summit? Band tours? Hard to say!

What advice would you give a prospective student?
Come to one of our rehearsals or concerts and see why some non-student band members have stayed with the group for more than 20 years! The band is a great family, and you will want to be a part of it!
