What I like about my job: I love meeting new people which makes being an admission counselor an awesome adventure for me. I love to travel and am especially thankful to have the opportunity to work for my alma mater. Being able to recruit the next classes of students who make this college so unique is a privilege.

My hobbies: Traveling, watching baseball and Jim Carrey movies, anything Irish, taking walks, eating delicious new foods and spending time with the Incredible Murphy Lee (My cat!!).

What I look for in a student: I look for a student who gets excited when I talk to them about Coe College; a student who wants to find his or her place at Coe and make the most of it.

What I like about my job: Meeting new people. Helping students open doors to a new and different world beyond high school. Letting them know of all the opportunities that await them at Coe College.

My hobbies: Attending Coe football games. I have been going since I was five years old, when my oldest brother came to Coe. Since then, my other three brothers have attended Coe along with me, and to top it all off, our dad is the defensive coordinator for the football team. GO KOHAWKS!!

Associate Director of Admission

What I look for in a student: While it is always important during the college search to find out what an institution can offer you, I think the students that are the most exciting are those that also look closely at what they can give back to the college. The students that are the best fit for Coe College seem to be those that are ready to be active participants in their own education, love to be engaged with faculty and are looking for ways to grow through service to campus and community.

What I like about my job: I like most the fact that I have the opportunity to help students and families discover the right "fit" in a college choice. As a first generation college student, we found that college selection could be a very intimidating process. So, I really enjoy being able to go on that journey with students and act as a guide, mentor and information source.

My hobbies: I am an avid photographer and scrapbooker. I also love to cook but it often turns out better in theory than in practice! I enjoy spending time with my family and weekends in the fall will find me cheering on my son's football team!

Becca Potts Murphy
Becca Potts Murphy
Senior Associate Director of Admission

What I look for in a student: The students who seem happiest here are interested in learning, want to be involved, and looking for community.

What I like about my job: I love the fact that I get to work with high school seniors-when else in your life do you get the chance to go anywhere, do anything, and be anyone? It doesn't get much cooler than that!

My hobbies: Walking, junk stores, cooking for friends, sewing, and spending hours in my backyard with my two Jack Russell Terriers, Katie and George.

Brian Nigg
Admission Counselor

What I look for in a student: I look for a student whose personality, talent, and style allows them to stand out from the crowd. The aspect of Coe that I enjoy most is the diversity in student interests and more importantly the willingness of those students to actively participate in multiple clubs and organizations which aid to further cultivate their talents.

What I like about my job: I like showing prospective students and their families why Coe is the right school for their future. As a recent Coe graduate I am confident and comfortable selling Coe, knowing from first hand experience that Coe provides a quality education and an opportunity to grow as a person.

My hobbies: Golf, attending sporting events with friends, spending time with family, and watching movies.

Chris Paasch
Chris Paasch
Admission Counselor

What I look for in a student: The students who strive in the Coe environment are excited about learning and integrating themselves within the Coe community. They want to be challenged academically and work hard to achieve their goals. However, it is also about balance at Coe so I look for students who know how to enjoy themselves. I feel open-minded students get the most out of their collegiate experience.

What I like about my job: I understand the uncertainty that comes along with choosing a college. My favorite aspect of being a counselor is that I am allowed to make personal connections with students and their families to help them find "The One." This is an exciting time in a young person's life and I am glad that I am able to make a difference!

My hobbies: Exercise (tennis, squash, mountain biking, jogging, skiing, etc.), music (sadly only listening), watching movies, reading, traveling (12 countries and counting), developing my handyman skills and spending time with family/friends!

What I look for in a student: I look for a student that is excited about the transition to college. Someone that is full of energy, enthusiasm and hope. An individual who is ready to absorb the life and education that the unique Coe College experience brings. I look for a student that is ready to become more than what they are right now.

What I like about my job: I love the fact that I am able to meet new people on a daily basis. I find it exciting being able to work with high school students who are eager about the next step in their life and I have the opportunity to point them in the right direction.

My hobbies: Sports are definitely my biggest hobby. I love to watch and play sports whenever I have the chance! I also enjoy bike riding, traveling, shopping and spending time with my friends and family
