Off-Campus Opportunities

The Sociology Department highly recommends off-campus studies and internships in the field of sociology. Coe's New York City and Washington, D.C. Terms and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Urban Studies and Latin American programs are especially relevant off-campus experiences. During these semesters, students combine internships, independent study, and sight-seeing to complement their individual academic plans.

Individually designed internships provide you with an opportunity to meet educational and career goals through participation in a social service, business, industrial, research, or health organization. The off-campus experiences that are right for you and your educational plan can be designed with the help of your faculty advisor.
