Music, Art, Theatre

There's something for all interests at Coe.

Whether you want to join an instrumental or vocal group, act in a play or work backstage, or create art using a variety of media, Coe has opportunities for you. You can major or minor in music, art or theatre. To complement these stellar academic programs, majors and non-majors are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities in all three fine arts areas offered at Coe.

Music - More than 250 Coe students are involved in the Music Department. Ensemble opportunities with course credit available include Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Chorale, and Crimson & Gold. Nationally affiliated chapters of professional music fraternities at Coe include Mu Phi Epsilon, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lambda.

Art - The Art Department provides opportunities for students interested in art history, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and education certification. Art Club and various exhibits provide great out-of-class experiences.

Theatre - Opportunities include acting, design, directing, playwriting, and technical theatre. The Theatre Department presents three main-stage productions each year. Coe's student theatre group, the Off-Stage Players, regularly produces Friday night "open mike" sessions.
