What is the Writing Major?

  • Writing StudentAre you interested in newspaper writing, on-line journalism, magazine writing, essays, memoirs, brochure-writing—in all kinds of non-fiction prose?
  • Would you like to be able to write for a wide variety of audiences?
  • Would you consider a second major (or a minor) that shows you're prepared to write in any profession—from law to public relations to education to business?

We invite you to consider a Writing Major—to make your college experience more rewarding and your degree more marketable.

Many students double major while here at Coe College. The Writing Major makes an excellent second major for those who are interested in writing.  A Writing Minor is also available
