Course Requirements

Ten courses are required to complete the major in sociology, including:

• Introductory Sociology
• Methods of Social Research
• Sociological Theory
• Seminar in Sociology
• Two half-courses in Statistics (totaling one semester)
• Five additional sociology courses, including at least one course numbered 400 or above

*The minor in sociology consists of six courses, including

• Introductory Sociology
• Methods of Social Research
• Sociological Theory
• Three additional sociology courses, including at least one course numbered 400 or above
