Jan Boland, D.M.A.

Jan
Boland is a concert artist and scholar whose interest ranges from
performances on historical flutes to commissioning and performance
of new music. Dr. Boland is an adjunct flute professor at Coe
College. She is co-founder and executive-director of Red Cedar
Chamber Music (Iowa). Recent performances have taken her to New
York, Washington D.C., Prague and Nova Scotia. She records for
Fleur de Son Classics and her most recent disc was released in
January '06. Boland's Method for the One-Keyed Flute
(University of California Press) was named a winner of the National
Flute Association's Newly Published Music Competition. Boland
holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of
Iowa.
