Students who wish to challenge any decision made
by the Teacher Education department or the Teacher Education Committee
(including denial of admission to the program or to student teach,
removal from student teaching, OR denial of licensure) may appeal
the decision in writing to the Teacher Education Committee. Such
an appeal must be made within five days of receipt of the decision.
The committee will evaluate such appeals on an individual basis,
using its best judgment of the student's suitability to enter
the teaching profession. The committee may grant exceptions to
these requirements when deemed appropriate in its professional
judgment. Additional or substitute requirements may be applied
in such appealed decisions. If the student wishes to challenge
the appeal decision, he/she may appeal in writing within five
days to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
