Coe Plan
The Coe Plan is a set of requirements and opportunities-both in and out of the classroom-for Coe College students that helps to make Coe College's mission a reality.
Coe College's Mission begins by stating "It is the Mission of Coe College to provide students an education of superior quality that aims at preparing them for life following graduation." We at the College know that this preparation includes learning both in and out of the classroom. The Coe Plan weaves together every element that really makes the college experience-the opportunity to "find yourself" and understand what's important to you and to others, the chance to learn a field in depth, the time to learn a little about many different fields, the chance to debate issues and make your voice heard, and the opportunity to get a small taste of life after College before you take the giant leap. In addition, the Coe Plan provides the support for you to get the most out of these experiences. Through the Coe Plan, you'll understand how and why these experiences are relevant in today's and tomorrow's societies.
COE PLAN REQUIREMENTS
- FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE-For students starting their college education at Coe, the first-year experience includes:
- Summer common reading
- Fall orientation activities
- First-year seminar
- Campus engagement (including Issue Dinners)
- Service Learning
- GENERAL EDUCATION (individual requirements vary by degree) includes:
- Liberal Arts Experience (Divisional requirements)
- Cultural Perspective Courses
- Writing Emphasis Courses
- PRACTICUM
- MAJOR
- At least 32 earned course credits
